Local Walk 3

There are two possibilities for this walk.

Walk No 3The short version is about 3 miles long, the longer one 7 miles. Both command spectacular views as you walk along the cliff top path above the red sandstone cliffs that make up Tomlin and St Bees Head.

Please note that these walks pass close to unfenced cliff edges in a number of places and the path can be muddy and steep in places, so appropriate footwear should be worn.

The options are
A walk to Fleswick Bay and back, returning along the same path
A walk along to St Bees Head, passing the RNLI Bird Sanctuary, and St Bees Lighthouse, before returning via Hannah Moor Lane before rejoining the original cliff path at Fleswick Bay. It is also possible to continue along the coastal path to Whitehaven, or to return to St Bees via Sandwith and Rottington.
