The St Bees Heads are a major bouldering venue in UK.

The unique mix of huge boulders of durable red permian sandstone and the coastal location attracts boulderers from around the UK all year. Often when the fells are frozen or wet, St Bees becomes the refuge for climbing on gritty rock which dries out quickly and enjoys the mild climate of a sea-side location.

As quoted in the climbing guide - "Lakesbloc"

"It wasn't too long ago that if you told someone you were off to St. Bees, for a days bouldering, they wouldn't have heard of the place, and if they had it was purely on a sport climbing level. Over the last few years, with the promotion of the area through this site, magazine articles and the Lakes Bouldering Rockfax guide, the area has rightly become recognised and renowned as one of the best bouldering locations in the UK."
